Honda Minivan Recall---Honda has issued a statement recall Minivan which includes 2008 and early 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L and Touring vans. Owners are asked to take their vehicles to a Honda dealer for inspection and repair.
Honda says the gas-filled struts that support the tailgate are prone to early failure. This could lead to the tailgate closing unexpectedly. Two injuries related to the problem have been reported as result of the faulty tailgates.
So Honda is recalling nearly 46,000 Odyssey minivans due to problems with falling rear doors.
Letters will be mailed to owners in mid-March. Owners also can go to www.recalls.honda.com or call (800) 999-1009 to find out whether their vehicles are affected. Thus, Honda is encouraging owners of affected vehicles to take their minivans to an authorized dealership as soon as they receive notification from Honda.
