Katie Couric will reveal that she struggled with bulimia while in college and shortly thereafter, the New York
Post reported on Monday.
The Post wrote that Couric, whose new daytime talk show "Katie" debuted earlier this month, will reveal the news while interviewing "X Factor" judge Demi Lovato.
A local New York promo for Monday's "Katie" includes the talkshow
host teasing her interview with Lovato, saying that the singer had an
eating disorder that "nearly killed her." While she didn't tease her
personal connection to the illness, she added that the show will discuss
"the shocking truth of how widespread the problem really is."
According to the Post, Couric struggled with bulimia from the ages of
18 to 24, during college and during the first two years she started
working in the television business. She eventually overcame the eating
disorder after seeking medical help.
Couric is a strong advocate for exercise and healthy lifestyles, recently showing off her physique and Zumba skills. She also recently made headlines for calling Kate Middleton "so thin" and saying the Duchess of Cambridge needed "to eat more."
