Mary J. Blige sings 'Why' on 'American Idol'

This week's guest mentor Mary J. Blige singing "Why" next on "American Idol." She did an OK job mentoring -- they're not giving the guests as much airtime as in years past, now that Jimmy Iovine is there every week.
I did like how she reacted as a real music fan to the contestants -- like when she gasped in surprise at how good Jessica Sanchez's voice is.
Her performance tonight is fine; if you like her, you liked it. If not so much, you probably checked some NBA scores.

Josh Smith Wants Atlanta Hawks

Josh Smith is having a very nice season for the Atlanta Hawks. He’s averaging just over 17 points per game and just under 10 boards. He’s a solid double-double guy if that second stat was in the double digits. Or, if you counted the .8 in 9.8 RPG as a second number. That would make it a double-double too. So, you have options.
But, anyway, apparently he doesn’t want to continue having a nice season for the Hawks. Sources tell the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that Smith wants to be traded to a new team by the March 15th deadline.

Patricia Heaton Fluke

Patricia Heaton Insults Sandra Fluke ....

Patricia Heaton had a lot to say about the raging birth control debate in Washington last week, until she had nothing to say at all.

One of Hollywood's outspoken Republicans, the Everybody Loves Raymond star sent a series of blistering messages aimed at Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown student who was denied the right to testify before Congress and then became the target of Rush Limbaugh's flurry of mysognistic name calling.

Heaton mocked Fluke with sarcastic remarks such as "G-Gal: you’ve given yer folks great gift for

Kirk Cameron responds to anti-gay comments flap

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Kirk Cameron is experiencing a new sort of growing pains over his anti-gay remarks.

Former "Growing Pains" star Cameron went on the defensive on Tuesday, responding to the many people who criticized his comments about homosexuality and gay marriage during an interview on Friday's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

In a statement provided to ABC News, the 41-year-old Cameron -- a Christian evangelist who's starred in a number of religious-themed films since his '80s heyday as a child actor -- lamented that he's been accused of "hate speech" and accused his detractors of trying to suppress his opinion.

"I should be able to express moral views on social issues," Cameron said, "especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years - without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach 'tolerance' that I need to either bend my beliefs to their

Kirk Cameron's Not Happy with His Critics

Kirk Cameron said Tuesday he's not pleased with the public's response to his remarks on gay people. Perhaps with these new comments, he can quickly return to the quiet anonymity more fitting of a former 1980s sit-com star. Cameron attracted more publicity this week than he has since his Growing Pains days when he told Piers Morgan he believes gays are "detrimental to human civilization." The actor tried to clarify himself Tuesday, in a press release (via ABC News):
