Mr. Autotune, T-Pain, is now suing the company who makes the effect for using his image.
According to MAI FM, T-Pain has filed a suit against Antares Technologies, who developed the autotune effect.
They initially put together a mutually-beneficial promotional deal, but T-Pain wanted to launch his own version called ‘The T-Pain Effect’ with another company Izotope.
But Antares has reportedly still be using his image and name to promote their product.
The lawsuit, filed in the District Court of Northern District Of California, states that confusion in the marketplace will affect sales of his products, including a new ‘I Am T-Pain Mic’.
T-Pain is seeking $1 million in damages and an injunction against Antares using his image, voice, likeness or anything else.
