New Internet craze, Tebowing

New Internet craze, Tebowing-Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is the inspiration for the latest Internet craze: Tebowing,Tim Tebow prayer pose. The viral craze is similar to the ones that came before it  posers are encouraged to post photos of their best poses online.
Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow won his first NFL game on Sunday, and all he got was a stupid internet craze named after him.

According to a new website, Tebowing.com, to "Tebow" is "to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different."

The site features dozens of shots of young men and woman posing on one knee - bowed heads resting on their fists - in homes, offices and public spaces around New York and other cities.

One wry young devotee is pictured Tebowing in front of his Tivo, while another strikes the pose in the middle of Grand Central Terminal.

The meme was inspired by Tebow's reaction to the Broncos' come-from-behind victory against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

The Heisman Trophy winner threw two touchdown passes and ran for a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, setting up kicker Matt Prater's 52-yard overtime winner.

Footage of the devout Christian quarterback dropping to a knee in prayer as the sidelines erupted in joy was replayed constantly on ESPN this week.

Sports bloggers have compared Tebowing to "planking," the dopey internet craze from last spring in which people were pictured lying face down in strange places.

But Tebowing's posture most closely resembles 2010's alcohol-fueled fad "icing," in which participants took a knee while guzzling a Smirnoff Ice malt beverage.
