Star of the game
Once again, Paterson native Victor Cruz was in the middle of the action, for good and for bad. He finished with a game-high 161 yards on eight receptions, including an electrifying 68-yard touchdown pass. But he also had a fumble, and the play that cost the Giants the most went through Cruz's fingertips.Turning point
The Giants had a chance to take the lead with less than 90 seconds remaining on first-and-goal from the Seahawks' 10. But when Eli Manning's pass went in and out of Cruz's hand, Seattle's Brandon Browner was there to make the interception. He returned it 94 yards for a score that doomed the Giants and stunned MetLife Stadium.Coaching decisions
The Giants had trouble running the ball effectively against Seattle. Andafter gaining only 35 yards on 14 carries in the first half, the Giants abandoned the run after halftime. They finished the game with 69 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Eye-catching
With the heavy workload, Manning put up big numbers. He finished 24-for-39 for three touchdowns and 420 yards. But he also personally accounted for four turnovers. Manning finished with three interceptions and a lost fumble.Costly mistakes
The penalties were just as costly as the turnovers. The Giants had seven of them for 52 yards but none bigger than the one just before Browner's game-clinching interception. The Giants had first-and-goal from the 5 but committed a false start. It pushed them back to the 10-yard line and threw off their rhythm. Browner capitalized with an interception on the very next play.Looking ahead
The Giants (3-2) will get the chance to bounce back against Buffalo (4-1) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.— Andy Vasquez
