Woman dies of old gunshot wound, woman dies 15-year-old gunshot wound- A Kent, Wash., woman dies of a 15-year-old gunshot wound last week, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office said. They’ve ruled that the death of 34-year-old Lakeesha LaShawn Johnson is a homicide. Police have not released any details. Kent police say Johnson was found dead in her residence on November 8.
The Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened Nov. 29, 1998 outside Skyway Bowl in Seattle. Johnson was in the front seat of a car parked outside the bowling alley. A passenger in the back seat fired a shot that struck Johnson in the back. Kent police originally said the shooting happened in 1996.
The medical examiner’s office Tuesday said Johnson was shot in the spine and was paralyzed. That led to what coroners called “multiple chronic pressure ulcers,” which are basically bed sores, which got infected. They would not say if a bullet was still lodged in her body when she died.
