SINGAPORE: The Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, Mr Ai Ping, will visit Singapore as the 34th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow from August 1 to 4.
During his stay, Mr Ai will call on Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean, as well as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.
Chairman of the Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship, Mr Eddie Teo, will host a welcome dinner for Mr Ai.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Community Development, Youth and Sports Sam Tan will separately host Mr Ai to lunch.
Mr Ai will also have meetings with Temasek Holdings, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the East Asia Institute.
The programme, which was set up in 1991, invites outstanding individuals for high-level exchange visits to Singapore.
The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their proven track records or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations as well as promote international understanding and goodwill.
