Tropical Storm Nadine

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say Tropical Storm Nadine is near hurricane-strength in the Atlantic, while
Tropical Storm Kristy is strengthening somewhat in the Pacific off the Mexico coast.
The National Hurricane Center said late Wednesday that Nadine was 820 miles east-northeast of the Lesser Antilles islands in the Caribbean Sea, with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph. It is moving northwest at 16 mph and is expected to become a hurricane on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kristy has become stronger after forming earlier Wednesday. It is 200 miles southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico, and has top speed winds of 50 mph. It is moving west-northwest at 9 mph.
Forecasters said that if Kristy deviates north, the southern tip of Baja California may be in its path.
