HICAGO— This weekend marks the 30th anniversary of the Tylenol poisonings in Chicago.
Seven people in Cook and DuPage counties died after taking Extra Strength Tylenol capsules laced
with cyanide. No one was ever arrested for the murders.
But James Lewis was later charged and convicted of extorting money from Tylenol's parent company
to "stop the killings." Lewis remains the chief suspect.
State prosecutors now say they may call a grand jury to force witnesses in the case to testify.
Additionally, a task force put together to probe the murders is actively re-investigating the case.
