Melanie Minnie, a teacher at a South African nursery school, was fined by police for cramming 19 kids into her Renault Clio, a small hatchback roughly the size of a Ford Fiesta.

Minnie was pulled over after a concerned passerby noticed all of the children climbing into the car after an
excursion to a local burger bar. When she was stopped by police, there were 6 kids in the trunk, at least 3 in the front seat and 10 in the back seat.

It's unknown if the children were wearing seat belts.
Nico van Heerden, who was on the scene and took several pictures of the ordeal, said that the children were pretty upset.

"They were excited at first but after a while they started to get a more worried and cried," he said, according to The Sun.

According to police, Minnie was caught while she was carrying the second of two loads of children back to the nursery. She said that she had already transported 12 of them back in her car.
"It was the first and the last time that we'll go on an outing... we're actually a very cute school," Minnie said, according to South African news outlet The Citizen.

She was fined 1,500 rand, which is just about $175.
