96-year-old dad

Some people hit serious old age and spend their time whittling in a rocking chair or crocheting by the fireplace.
But then again, some make ‘different’ use of their time.
Take for example, the 96 year-old man in India who
is laying claim to being the world’s oldest new daddy.
According to an ABC News article from today, Ramjit Raghav’s baby son, Rajeet, who was born on October 5th, could quite possibly afford him the crown he is now claiming, as the oldest man on Earth to help sire a child.
In an interesting twist to the story, Raghav would be shattering his own record, which he set a few years ago when his first son with his wife, Shakuntala Devi, 52, was born.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I am going to venture to say that if I somehow was lucky/unlucky enough to still be around at that age, the very last thing I will be trying to get done is a new baby.
No sir. I’ll be happy if I’m well enough to raise a couple tomatoes at that point, or even a plastic fern… but a brand new crying, pooping, needy infant??? Forget about it.
Still, for Ramjit, this was something he wanted and more power to him, I suppose.
The ABC News piece insinuates that Raghav claims he is a sexual dynamo of sorts, staying very active in the bedroom without any kind of Viagra or anything.
“I didn’t take any performance enhancers … I just prayed… to complete my family, either a boy or a girl,” the elderly papa is quoted as saying.
And it’s probably worth noting that he also claims that he has been a strict vegetarian and a non-drinker for his entire life.
But my guess is, if a new baby doesn’t kill an old fellow at 96 years old, maybe nothing ever will.
Congrats, Ramjit and family!!!
