Breezy point fire
Breezy Point, NY - Republican Congressman Bob Turner is among those
affected by the devastating fire which claimed some 80 homes in Breezy
Point, Queens. According to the Crain’s Insider (http://goo.gl/Heo6o),
Congressman Turner’s spokesman confirmed that Mr. Turner and his wife
were inside the home until “later in the process” of the storm, but both
he and his wife got out of the house safely.

The fire also decimated the home of Turner friend and neighbor,
Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long. In a telephone interview, Mr.
Long said he and his family were not in Breezy Point during the
hurricane, and that he had not yet been to Breezy Point to survey the
damage. Instead, his son, who works for the fire department went to the
site and informed his father of the horrific news. “The houses aren’t
even burnt,” Mr. Long said. “They’re completely gone.”
