Britney Spears trial

Once upon a time, Britney Spears was a mess. She shaved her head, lost custody of her children and wound up in a conservatorship. For an elongated stretch, she was largely treated as an object of ridicule by most of the public. Over the last few years, however, things have started turning around. People have finally started forgetting about all the problems and remembering all the reasons why they liked her in the first place.

With her life largely a picture of stability now, her father and fiancĂ© handling her money and a new job working on X Factor it seemed like the good vibes would keep getting better. Unfortunately, the Sam Lufti trial began earlier this week, and the pop star’s shady former manager/ friend appears hellbent on bring up as many of her mistakes and lower moments as possible. Whether true or not, his attorneys have accused Spears of being a bad mother, abusing drugs and having mental problems.

These allegations have led newscasts and been plastered on the front pages of numerous websites, reminding everyone about the period in her life when Brit Brit was less than reliable and more than a bit impulsive. Given how many years ago it happened, you’d like to think digging up the dirt wouldn’t change people’s perceptions, but since many of the scandals haven’t been discussed publically, it could well alter some viewpoints.
