Giant eyeball mystery

Is it a fish? Is it a shark? Is it an enormous ocean monster?
Well, nobody knows, but an eyeball the size of a softball that washed up on a Florida beach is befuddling wildlife officials.
They're trying to identify which animal the blue orb belongs to, after it washed up on Pompano Beach, near Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.
The eyeball has been put on ice to preserve it while tests are run.
A spokesperson for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute says the eyeball comes from a marine animal, because it was found a beach. Possible candidates include a giant squid or some kind of large fish.
