Joke Victim Shines at Even

Joke Victim Shines at Even . All eyes were on Whitney Kropp Friday night.
She's the Ogemaw Heights sophomore who is a victim of bullying.
Tonight was Kropp's big night at the high school's homecoming football game, where she had the opportunity to stand up to her bullies and do it with the support of the whole community behind her.

More than 1,000 people were at the game to see the happy ending of a story that touched hundreds of thousands of lives.
Two weeks ago, TV5 told the story of Kropp being a victim of bullying. She said she was selected to the sophomore homecoming court and then was told she was selected as a joke.  She said the prank hit hard and she even considered suicide.
But that's when the community stepped up. Certain businesses offered to pay for her homecoming dress, pay for her hair, and even buy her homecoming dance dinner. National media hooked on to the story, and a Support Whitney Facebook page has more than 100,000 likes.
Friday, people showed up to support 16-year-old Kropp. Many people in the stands wore the color orange, Kropp's favorite color. She also had a very loud cheer when she was announced to the fans in the stands.
"The kids that are bullying you, do not let them bring you down. Stand up for what you believe in and go with your heart and go with your gut," said Kropp shortly after the halftime celebration.
