stars Pattinson and Stewart have called it quits, driving a stake
through the flagging on-again, off-again, three-year love affair
millions of Twihards enjoyed sinking their teeth into.
A source told People magazine the couple, who played the sheepish Bella Swan and her vampire soulmate Edward Cullen
for five “Twilight” movies, broke up amid online reports that Pattinson
was a no-show at his own 27th birthday party that Stewart organized.
“Kristen totally went out of her way to make Rob’s birthday super
special,” a friend of Stewart’s told the blog Hollywood Life Friday.
“She invited friends over to go swimming and just hang out for the late
afternoon and evening. At the last minute, Rob said he didn’t want to
make his birthday a big deal and said he was just going to hang with the
guys. Well, obviously this completely pissed off Kristen.”
Friends say team StewPatz’s romance has been on the rocks ever since Pattinson returned from a nine-week Australian film shoot for his upcoming movie “The Rover,” in late March. The two seemed fine, though, when they attended the Met Gala on May 6.
A rep for Stewart would not comment on the reported break-up.
The couple first hit the skids in July 2012, when Us Weekly reported
Stewart was having an affair with her much older and married “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, 41.
Stewart issued a public apology to Pattinson after the affair was made public.
