Seal dies fort knox, WASHINGTON, D.C. — A U.S. Navy enlisted man was killed and as many as
seven people were injured when their Humvee vehicle rolled over during a
training exercise for elite SEAL forces at Fort Knox, Ky., a SEAL
spokesman said on Friday.The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, and the cause remains under investigation, said Lt. David
Lloyd, a spokesman for Navy Special Warfare Group 2. The group comprises
the four SEAL teams on the U.S. East Coast.
Five to seven people were injured, and all but two of those involved in the accident were Navy SEALs, he said.
The
deadly training accident was at least the second in the United States
since March, when a mortar explosion killed seven Marines and injured
eight service members in Nevada.
