Michael Jackson Six Flags

It was a "thriller" of a day Monday at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee when the King of Pop's children showed up for some play time.

Michael Jackson's kids, Prince Michael, 15; Paris, 14; and Blanket, 10, are in town to attend tribute events being held in Gary, Ind. through Saturday.

"We don't get celebrities often, but every once in a while they pop up in town," said Katy Enrique, Six Flags Communications Manager.

The Jackson children were accompanied by their
cousin and new co-guardian, TJ Jackson.

Members of the famous musical family are in town to pay tribute to Michael Jackson and what would have been his 54th birthday. Jackson died June 25, 2009, from cardiac arrest after being administered propofol by then doctor Conrad Murray, who is serving four years in prison after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

The City of Gary will be celebrating Jackson's life through Saturday with special events, including a candlelight tribute ceremony from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday outside the Jackson's childhood home at 2300 Jackson St.

Katherine and LaToya Jackson are among the expected special guests.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, at the West Side Theatre Guild, daughter Paris Jackson will host a tribute concert with Mario Lopez of the TV show Extra.

Fans can also share their Jackson memories from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday at the Majestic Star Casino and Hotel in Gary.
