After learning that Tony Scott’s suicide note didn’t reveal the motive to take his life, his private funeral service is underway in Los Angeles.
The famous Taking Pelham 123 and Top Gun director is being laid to rest at a cemetery during a private family-only service on Friday afternoon, according to TMZ.
The website reports several of the filmmaker’s family and friends are in attendance, including his older brother and Prometheus director, Ridley Scott, who stalled production on his latest film The Counselor, and flew in from London a day after learning of Tony’s death.
“The Scott family will announce plans after Labor Day for a gathering to celebrate the life and work of Tony,” the family said in a statement.
On Monday, an autopsy was performed on Scott, but the cause of
death is still undetermined as toxicology and other test results are still pending and will become available in several weeks.
But Scott’s family did advise investigators that contrary to widespread reports, the director was did not have an inoperable brain tumor.
