Michael Le Vell — accused of raping a girl when she was six year old — has separated from his wife.
The news comes as the 46-year-old actor Michael Le Vell renowned as mechanic Kevin Webster is in battles to clear his name.
Le Vell, of Hale, Greater Manchester, has been married to 45-year-old Janette Beverley for 25 years is Dad-of-two.
The Corrie veteran disintegrated with his wife just months before finding himself at the core of a child abuse probe.
The telly star was detained two weeks ago after a female charged that he raped her when she was six.
By then Le Vell had already separated from blonde missus Janette, his former childhood sweetheart.
Last night a source told: “It’s very sad, but they are alienated and have been for a while. This police inquiry comes ahead of everything else. It’s been the worst time of Michael’s life.”
Le Vell got married with Janette in October 1986.
They starred next to each other in Corrie in 1984 when she played a role called Elaine Pollard.
The couple was also crowned champions of TV series Gameshow Marathon in May 2007. Their separation will shock Le Vell’s huge number of fans because he is notorious for being a family man.
