Wildwood (@KSDKSports) -- St. Louis Cardinals 3rd
baseman David Freese is said to be physically okay, after his SUV
slammed into a tree Thursday afternoon.
Freese told a St. Louis County police supervisor that he was
attempting to avoid striking a deer along Wildhorse Creek Road at Rieger
Road, about 2:30 p.m.
When police arrived to investigate, Freese was already standing
outside of his 2011 Range Rover. He did not require any medical
treatment, according to a St. Louis County police spokesman.
Investigators say Freese was not impaired in any way.
Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak expect Freese will meet with a
member of the team's medical staff to make sure Freese was not injured
in the crash.
