Actor Kelsey Grammer’s U.S. TV series Boss has been cancelled.
The political drama earned Grammer a 2012 Best Actor Golden Globe
Award for his portrayal of fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, but the
show is destined to be short-lived.
Executives at cable TV network Starz have decided not to renew
the programme for a third season due to low ratings.
A statement from the studio reads: "After much deliberation, we
have made the difficult decision to not proceed with Boss. We remain
proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and
are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, (creator) Farhad Safinia and our
(producing) partners at Lionsgate TV."
Since his star turn in Frasier, which wrapped in 2004, Grammer
has been struggling to reconnect with viewers on the small screen - Back
to You and Hank were also axed after just a handful episodes.
