Lauren scruggs with her new eye

We have another update on model Lauren Scruggs!  She is making amazing progress after the horrible accident in December when a moving airplane propeller took her left eye, hand, and caused other devastating injuries.

She’s improving at a rate the doctors never predicted, her faith and determination always pushing her forward.  And with her loving family right by her side, she’s sure to conquer this!  The latest piece
of news that we got from her family is that Lauren Scruggs has received a new eye!
The Daily Mail quotes Lauren’s mom’s message on their website, where Cheryl said of the eye, “It is beautiful.  Jeff, myself, Lo and Britt showed up at 9am at the ocularist.  We didn’t know what to expect, other than it would be an all day process from 9am-5pm Another new step.  She was fitted and measured. The ocularist carefully painted and shaped the new eye. By 5pm, it was done, and her new eye was in place.”  It looks like a prosthetic arm may be next.
Mrs. Scruggs wrote that while Lauren’s physical pain—which she described as “ferocious”—has healed a lot, it’s the emotional pain that’s going to be an even bigger hurdle.

We’ve all been keeping up to date on Lauren’s condition and hoping and praying that she’d be okay.  Rest assured that she hears us.  She wrote in January, “I don’t know how to thank each one of you, properly, for so much love during this difficult incident in my life.  My heart is so grateful beyond what I could ever imagine. Thank you dearly for the sweet encouragements, the precious words in letters and messages, the beautiful grace in pretty presents.  But mostly I am so so thankful for you and your loving hearts and sweet spirits.”
What an amazing young girl.  Go get ‘em, Lauren!  We’re all here, cheering you on!
