Bynes shaves half of her head
The 27-year-old actress took to Twitter on Wednesday to address critics making fun of her penchant for wigs as of late.
The former child actress took aim at media outlets in a series of tweets calling on cruel media reports to stop.
She said the taunts have been particularly distressing because she hates looking at unflattering images
of herself plastered on the pages of tabloids.
“I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @ John Barrett so I'm not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years!” she wrote, adding, “I have extensions but you can see them!”
Amanda directed media outlets to select only her “best” photos.
She previously threatened to sue several tabloids for publishing false stories about her erratic behaviour.
Amanda has been mired in controversy of late.
On Wednesday a New York hairstylist claimed she was under the influence of drugs when she visited her salon earlier in the week to have her hair dyed blonde.
Amanda apparently kept her sunglasses on throughout virtually the entire four-hour process.
“I feel sorry for her,” the stylist told Radar Online.
“I don’t know what she was on exactly, but she was definitely on something.”
A family member recently told In Touch magazine the actress' loved ones believe she is in the midst of a breakdown. The star is said to be reluctant to receive help.
“She’s completely resisting any help that her family wants to give her,” the source said.
