Student killed home invasion

Student killed home invasion, (ANDERSON INDEPENDENT-MAIL) — The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is looking for one white male and two black males possibly connected to a random home invasion that left a Clemson University junior dead Saturday night.

Steven Gregory Grich, who was 23, was shot to death after his killer walked through the unlocked back door of his house.

Grich lived in Chimney Ridge, a gated subdivision two miles from campus. Grich shared the house with three other young men, said Lt. J.B. Kelley, but seven people, including male and female students, were at the home when invasion occurred.

Kelley did not comment on whether anything was stolen from the home or what motive there might have been for the intruders to have entered.

Grich died there, said Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley, of a gunshot wound.
